Yesterday we talked about three of my very favorite paranormal romance series, but today we're going to talk about authors who have more than one series that deserve your attention. Let's get started! (read more) ILONA ANDREWS
I do believe what makes Ilona Andrews so good is the fact that it's a husband and wife team who write the books together. There is just something about the point of view and the interaction of the characters that lets you know a man was involved.
You don't get a lot of that sappy love story stuff you so often see in romance novels, and I'm glad for it! What you end up with is a strong heroine, a strong hero, and a realistic story in an unrealistic world. They are probably best know for their Kate Daniels series, so we'll start there. THE KATE DANIELS SERIES
Kate Daniels is a bounty hunter of sorts. If there's a big paranormal job no one else wants to mess with, the Mercenaries call her and she gets it done.
Basically, Kate is one tough chick. When she meets Curran Lennart, head of the shifter clan, sparks fly! The series is complete, as far as I know, so you can start and finish it without worrying about cliffhangers. There are ten books, each just as good as the last, despite the continuing story line always pushing the reader to a resolution in the last book. Be careful with this series, though. It's binge worthy; you may miss some laundry.

THE EDGE SERIES
Somewhere in Louisiana there is a border no one knows about. That is, you don't know about it unless you're magical.
We non magical people live in the Broken, doing our thing, not believing in Magic, and even mixing with magical folk; right up until they go home at night, crossing the border from the Broken into the Weird. This series is hard to pin down because there is so much going on. Each book is stand alone and focuses on two people, finishing in a happily ever after. There are four books in the series, but I really hope they write more because, as with all of Ilona Andrews books, the writing is superb. If you like paranormal romance that focuses more on magic and less on shifting (though there is a bit of shifting), you will definitely not regret giving this series a shot.

THE HIDDEN LEGACY SERIES
When I describe Nevada Baylor to you, you're going to think it sounds an awful lot like Kate Daniels, but it's not, believe me.
Both women are private investigators, of sorts, and both meet their match in a strong male counterpart, but that's where the similarities end. Hidden Legacy is set in Houston, Texas, which I love because it's my hometown. It's so cool to picture the places the author writes about, imagining the events in places I've seen and visited. Nevada and her family are Primes, very powerful magic users, only they are also in hiding. Being a Prime is a very big deal, so big that other family members, should they find out, will either try to claim or kill them, neither of which the Baylor family wants. They take on jobs to keep themselves afloat, but, as luck would have it, one day they take on the wrong job, and their luck runs out. This series is three books long, with a fourth in the works. It focuses on Nevada, and in later books, on her sisters, both Primes in their own magical fields. It's an excellent series, as good, or better than the two I mentioned previously.
