It took a long time for me to learn to love my curls, something like 30 years, to be exact, but now, I do love them! It's part of what makes me, me, and you, you. I hadn't ever found a hair tie I really liked for my curls until I recently tried a Pony O hair tie. I don't wear my hair in a pony tail very often (it tends to get all poofy and weird looking) so it was really nice to find a hair tie that stayed in place, didn't yank and pinch, and didn't budge, not at all.
Less budging means less touching. If you've ready my post on how to get the best, shiniest, bounciest curls, you know what I'm talking about. The more you touch, the more you frizz. Hands off!! Once I realized I loved my Pony O hair tied, I decided to take the next step and try a Pony O Bun Barz for curly hair. I'm going to post my curl routine right down below, but if you love your routine, skip it and read past. That's where I talk about the Bun Barz for curly hair.

PONY O BUN BARZ REVIEW
When I first sat down and searched for, "Pony O Bun Barz review", everything I found was glowing and wonderful.
"It's such a great product!" "So easy to use!" "My hair looks great!" I was absolutely certain that I was going to get my Pony O Bun Barz, put it in, and BAM, my hair was gonna look fantastic. Unfortunately, that's not at all what happened, and I was THIS CLOSE to sending it back to Pony O. Thankfully, I gave it another shot, changed my expectations a bit, and now I absolutely love it. Let me explain about the expectations. See, I don't wear my hair in a bun. I mean, never ever. I don't like how it looks on me, so if my hair is in a bun it's because I'm sick, the kids have worn me down enough that I'm over life for the day, or I have decided against showering and there's just nothing else I can do with the mass of hair on my head. Why on earth did I think a Pony O Bun Barz hair tie would somehow make me love buns? I have no idea. I mean really, I'm still trying to answer that question. I guess I just thought that maybe if I could wear my hair in a CUTE bun, then I'd like buns, and it would all be good. I don't like buns, I hate how they look on me, it was not at all good. To give you an idea, I recorded a video of the day I got the package and opened it up, then I spliced that video with a video of the next day, when I decided I'd give it one more shot before sending it back. Be sure to watch the whole thing, because in the end, like I said, I really did love the Bun Barz. I will probably never use it to make a traditional bun, but I will definitely use it all the time, probably on a daily basis. My hair ALWAYS goes up during the day, it's like breathing, it's gonna happen. Now that I have a Pony O Bun Barz, my daily updo is not just comfortable and secure, but super freaking cute! The instructions are fairly simple, but I'll show you a picture as well.
Basically you just grab your hair back like you're going to put it into a pony tail, put the Bun Barz over it, slide the Bun Barz back toward the end of your hair, then twirl the Bun Barz toward your head until it sits against your scalp. Once you've done that you just fold the ends under, move your hair around the edges to hide the Bun Barz, and you're done! In theory. If you watched my video, you saw that it didn't happen for me like it was supposed to. There are a million videos showing different Bun Barz hair styles, and they have some super cute ones! I will say that you do need pretty long hair for the Bun Barz to work, and most of the posts and videos on how to use Pony O Bun Barz do feature women with long locks. We'll talk more about different hair types down below. In the meantime, here are the instructions for the classic bun, which is the one I tried to do in my Bun Barz video. BUN BARZ PONY O HAIR TYPES
The idea behind Bun Barz is that you have to be able to wrap your hair around the bar. For you Bun Barz short hair folks, here's a good test to see if your hair is long enough.
Grab your favorite large nail file (the kind you see at the nail salon), put it up to the back of your head and see if you can wrap your hair around it. The good thing about Bun Barz is that your hair also goes in the middle of the bar, so it's actually clasped closed top and bottom. As long as you have enough room to put hair in the Bun Barz and spin it toward your head a couple of times, you will be good to go. If you're hair is too short, it won't cover the Bun Barz, and you'll either be stuck with a loose style or a Bun Barz you can see. Bun Barz will work for all different hair types, long, medium, straight, curly, thick, etc. I happen to have very thick, very curly hair, and I LOVE how it looks in a Bun Barz. My hair ends up UP every day, without fail, and the Bun Barz is definitely going to be my go to accessory. It makes an adorable short, flippy, fun updo that takes 5 seconds to fix, but stays put all day long. I've had a few questions that are simply titled, "Bun Barz fine hair?", so let me address that. If you have fine hair, the Bun Barz will still work....fine. :) No really, it'll work great! The rubber of the Bun Barz is grippy and grooved so it kind of grabs your hair and keeps it in place (without pinching or pulling). Here's a picture of the grooves inside the Bun Barz. As you can see, they're grooved all over the place so you don't have to worry about your thin hair slipping out of the Bun Barz hair tie. SNACK AROUND THE WORLD - WE TRIED UNIVERSAL YUMS
