PONY O BLING RINGZ VIDEO REVIEW

Any time I write a blog post, I try to do a video since some people prefer watching over reading. This video is extra special because you get to see me try the Pony O Bling Ring for the first time. That's important because sometimes (like with the Pony O hair tie and the Pony O Bun Barz) there can be a little bit of a learning curve.

Thankfully, the Pony O Bling Ring is as easy to use as you'd think it would be.

HOW TO

The Pony O Bling Ring is held together with a fairly strong magnet. I would compare it to the magnets you might find on the back of magnetic earrings, magnetic backed necklaces, etc. When you put it on (around the Pony O hair tie) it clicks with an audible "snap" so you know it's locked into place.

Please note - The Pony O Bling Ring does NOT work without the Pony O hair tie. It might work with a knock off, like this one you can find on Amazon, but I'm not going to guarantee that. The knock offs don't get very good reviews, so buyer beware for sure.

I will say that the back is made up of a thick fishing line type material that will have some grip, and it stretches enough that you can easily pull it tight around the Pony O hair tie, but depending on what another brand hair tie is made of, it may or may not grip as well.

HERE'S OUR PONY O BUN BARZ REVIEW

The construction seems sturdy enough. In this picture I'm putting a good bit of outward force on the Bling Ring, but it's holding. That tells me that you can put it on thick hair, likely even the Pony O hair tie made specifically for thick hair, and it'll still hold.

HERE'S HOW I CUT MY OWN HAIR AT HOME USING THE DOUBLE UNICORN METHOD

Here's a closeup of the construction of the Pony O Bling Ring. It's a thick monofilament, and while I was thinking that part rested on the Pony O hair tie, now that I look at it I realize it's the metal prongs that rest on the hair tie, so I don't imagine the monofilament will add any extra grip (just in case you wanted to use the Bling Ring with a different brand pony tail holder).

When I made the video I didn't go back and look at my order, so I was thinking the Pony O Bling Ringz were around $15.00 each. Turns out, they are much less than that, $9.99 if you buy one by itself (plus shipping of course). However, if you're like me and you place the order along with replacements for your other Pony O hair ties (I got a new Pony O hair tie and a new Pony O Bun Barz, both in a shade darker) the cost goes down with each additional item you purchase.

THE END & FINAL THOUGHTS

Up until I found the Pony O line of products, I disliked wearing pony tails or putting my hair up. It never turned out quite right, I was adjusting it all day long, and my hair ended up frizzy and crazy because of all the touching I had to do to adjust things and get them tighter.

Now that I've started using Pony O, I'm a convert. I put it in once, it stays all day, and my hair doesn't get frizzy because there's no need to keep touching.
